Ainda a questão de como a educação influencia o crescimento económico

Esta nota vem no seguimento de outra (ver aqui) onde se dava conta de uma opinião de Edward L. Glaeser quanto à influência que teria tido nos resultados do crescimento argentino, ao longo do século XX, do nível educativo menos bom desse país. A questão da ligação entre educação e crescimento económico é revisitada no artigo referenciado abaixo. Respigaram-se as perguntas feitas aí:

But why would education in 1900 correlate so well with income today?
Why did the 20th century belong to countries, like the United States, that were investing so much in education a century ago?
Why is the cross-country relationship between income and education levels so strong?
If the link between country level income and education is real, then we need to understand why the link between schooling and education gets magnified at the country level. Why should there be a social multiplier that causes the schooling-income link to increase at higher levels of aggregation?
