Consequências da guerra

O impacto da guerra no exército dos EUA: nota do Open Left, You Destroy The Army You Have:. Um excerto:

Teacherken, over at DKos pointed me toward an explosive article at Washington
Monthly, 'The Army's Other Crisis: Why the best and brightest young officers are
leaving,' By Andrew Tilghman. And, of course, when you read 'the best and
brightest young officers' read that as 'the Army's future.'
The article has
personal stories, it's got statistics, it's got logic, it's got historical and
cultural context, and it's got one hell of a warning about how bad things have
already gotten in the Army, and how there's going to be hell to pay down the
road. As Tilghman makes clear, it's not just Iraq, there are deeper problems,
but Iraq is making the deeper problems impossible to address.
And this is
all brought to you by the folks who spent most of the 1990s ragging on Clinton
for supposedly creating a 'hollow military.' Well, once again, it turns out that
the best way to know what the GOP is up to is to look at what they accuse
Democrats of doing.
