We now live in a world where overfishing is far too prevalent. To stem this tide, regulators impose tighter and tighter restrictions on fishermen,* in the face of fundamental disagreements among harvesters, regulators, and conservationists about how many is too many.

A nota refere-se a situação das pescas nos EUA, mas os problemas de todo o tipo ali referidos, penso que são semelhantes aos existentes em qualquer lado - já referi a questão das pescas na região uma série de vezes (ver sob a etiqueta "mar" ou fazer pesquisa no motor de busca do blogue: "mar+região").
